Mark McDonnell has a remarkable accounting background and a thorough understanding of the finance world, making him truly exemplary of the SALO standard. Previous to his role as Controller of SALO, Oberon and NumberWorks, Mark spent five years at Ernst & Young where he served as an Assurance Manager. There, he was responsible for accounting and assurance services for public and private companies, both large and small. Mark has also served as a Senior Accountant and Senior Manager of Operations Accounting for a pharmaceutical company. In these positions, he significantly contributed to the companies’ S-1 filing and assisted in the successful Sarbanes-Oxley internal control development, implementation and testing.

Mark later partnered with the SALO Search team and realized that he was ready for a new experience in the finance and accounting realm. “SALO’s unmatched reputation in the financial community, in addition to its unique culture, really appealed to me,” says Mark. “So when the opportunity to become the firm’s Controller was presented, I jumped on it. I knew immediately that SALO was the perfect fit for me and that it would provide me with the challenges I needed to further my financial skill set.”

Mark is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He is a licensed CPA and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of CPA’s. Mark enjoys spending quality time with his wife and twin children and playing basketball, golf and tennis.
