SALO WALKS OFF WITH TWO AWARDS FOR ITS FLEDGLING "UpSide" E-NEWSLETTER
Publishing Industry Validates Salo's Strategy of Providing High-Value Information and Insights to Clients
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, August 6, 2007 As evidence that its commitment to provide important insights to the finance community is working, SALO, LLC today announced that it has been awarded two of the custom publishing industry's most prestigious awards a Magnum Opus and an APEX. SALO bested hundreds of better-established entries with its fledgling newsletter, UpSide, which is less than two years old.
UpSide was conceived by SALO co-founders John Folkestad and Amy Langer to fill a much-needed information void in the Minneapolis/St. Paul finance community. "We recognized that there was a need to offer advice and guidance on how finance executives might approach many of the pressing staffing issues they face today," Folkestad explained. "We felt that an electronic newsletter that revolved around a single topic or issue would provide the finance community with useful information in an easy-to-access format," Langer added.
Both Langer and Folkestad said that the finance community response to UpSide has been so positive that they are now looking at plans to extend the concept to SALO affiliate companies, Oberon and NumberWorks.
UpSide is one aspect of SALO's overall relationship-building marketing strategy which focuses on providing finance and accounting professionals in the Twin Cities with advice, guidance, information and insights that can help them to be more effective in addressing important staffing issues affecting their organizations.
